Do you ever feel like you're just not good enough? You desperately want to be the best in something, the best friend, the best fighter, the best lover, looked up to someone, anyone. Just having one person look to you first above all others because you're just that good?

Anti-Proton
Anti-Proton -- You are generally a homebody like
the proton, but you are very disagreeable being
anti-matter and all. You annihilate everything
that you come into contact with. If there's not
many people arround, you like to hang out with
positrons.

Ow... my head hurts... time to go harass Laura, and maybe Michelle... and by harass, I mean go "hang out with"

23rd June, 2003. 4:22 pm. Son of a bitch!

OK, I go to work today, slave outside... it's frickin' hot, I'm sweaty, my back is a little burned, but it's ok, only 30 minutes to go. I walk to the other side of the building to return a cart we borrowed and try to waste some time. I look over to where I park my Blazer, and see something odd.

Confused, I walked nearer. The glass hatch to the tailgate was completely shattered and just blown out all over the place; inside the back, on the ground, all around. ::blink:: ::blink:: Holy shit! What the crap happened?!? My coworker's stopped by from time to time to gawk and we took some digital pictures. We also checked the security camera, but unfortunately, the one in my area was pointed at the ground... mother pucker!

To make a long story somewhat shorter, I swept up the glass, we discovered a rock inside (possibly kicked up from a truck, possibly already there), and we hypothesized that it got hot in the car, and then a rock kicked up cracked it and made it shatter all over the place.

I drove home, floppy rubber the only remainder of the tailgate hatch. Grr....

Current mood: aggravated.
Current music: The grinding of my teeth.

23rd June, 2003. 12:30 am. Night Breezes

Tonight was a night like I haven't had in a while. After blowing the whole weekend without doing much, I hung out in Ben's basement... erm... not doing much.

Michelle was supposed to call after eating, but she didn't. That's understandable. I left Ben's around 10:45 to search for Michelle (we were afraid she'd gotten lost... somewhere). I stopped by her house, chatted to her mom for a little bit (a very little bit, because I'm not good at small-talk) and discovered she wasn't there.

My quest then took me to Laura's house, making a hypothesis that Michelle might well have gone there. To my utter shock and amazement, there were absolutely NO cars parked in front of it (it's like some sort of blue moon event). Not one to waste this lovely evening, I proceeded to cruise up and down Woodward for the next half an hour; windows down, wind in my face, radio playing WDVD. It really made me wish I was in a convertible instead of an SUV.

Around 11:30, I stopped by the park near the Hermeses (the one off Cooper, what exactly is it's name?) to try to do a little stargazing. It seemed like the darkest park around, but there was still crazy ambient light pollution. Ah well. Took another lap south on Woodward to Catalpa, then returned home at midnight.

All in all, it was a terrific way to end the evening, and I think I shall repeat it. I also need to find some good place nearby that is fairly dark to try to glimpse some night skies (maybe off Woodward near Cranbrook, but that's a lot of private property, right?). OK... work at 7 AM tomorrow morning, like every weekday, so time for rest.

Current mood: mellow.
Current music: Million Dollars - Barenaked Ladies.
